Democratic Republic of the Congo eSIM for city stays

Message your Kinshasa host, check a Lubumbashi meeting address or send updates where supported service is available. AloOui Democratic Republic of the Congo eSIM is a data-only travel eSIM with fixed data up to 20GB and Unlimited Lite, Essential and Plus for up to 10 days. Your QR code is delivered by email after purchase.

Choose your plan

• Lighter use or a longer stay: compare fixed 5GB or 10GB for 30 days for messages and bookings between Wi-Fi connections.
• Balanced daily use: Essential provides 1GB of high-speed data daily, then data at up to 1.25 Mbps.
• Data-heavy use: Plus provides 2GB of high-speed data daily, then data at up to 2 Mbps, for more uploads or hotspot use where supported. A larger allowance does not extend coverage or overcome outages.

Compare selectable plans

Standard Unlimited options are Lite. Daily high-speed allowances refresh each day. Unlimited does not mean unrestricted high-speed data. Fixed plans end when their allowance or validity runs out, whichever comes first, without reduced-speed continuation. Fixed allowances above 20GB, Unlimited durations above 10 days and Premium are not selectable. Plus is not Premium or Platinum. Actual speeds depend on available connectivity and can be below policy limits.

Networks and the two Congo destinations

The provider record lists both the Democratic Republic of the Congo (CD) and the Republic of the Congo (CG), which are separate countries. In CD, it lists Airtel DRC and Orange RDC supporting up to 4G. Two Orange RDC entries do not represent two additional distinct brands. In CG, it lists Airtel Congo up to 4G and MTN for 2G/3G only. The record does not establish 5G.

Connection and speeds depend on your device, supported partner, location and local conditions. Reception at every airport, address or route is not guaranteed. Confirm the selected plan's destinations and essential locations before purchase, particularly for a cross-border itinerary.

Field locations, river journeys and remote routes

Save contact details, maps and important documents offline before leaving reliable coverage. Confirm essential locations with support before purchasing. The country entries do not independently establish reception in every park, at every rural work site, on eastern routes or throughout Congo River journeys.

Check current official travel advice and your organisation's security guidance independently. Connectivity does not establish safety, access or permission to travel. Arrange appropriate backup communications for essential work and remote journeys rather than relying on mobile data for navigation or emergencies. Satellite and maritime networks are not included; offshore or boat-route reception is not promised.

Hotspot and calls

Hotspot depends on the selected plan, device and network; shared usage counts toward the same allowance. This data eSIM does not include a local phone number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based calls and messages depend on app availability and connectivity.

No ID verification is required for the AloOui purchase; this does not waive local registration or legal requirements. If keeping your home SIM enabled on a compatible device, check roaming charges, turn off its data roaming and avoid automatic data switching.

Compatibility, installation and activation

Check that your exact device model and regional version support eSIM and are carrier-unlocked. Install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.

Validity starts when the eSIM activates by connecting to a supported destination network, not simply on installation. Enabling the line within supported coverage can start the plan. When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line. Do not assume switching between listed countries restarts validity.

APN and troubleshooting

1. Confirm AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
2. If manual APN setup is needed, enter data.esim with username and password blank, then save/select it.
3. Toggle airplane mode or restart your phone.
4. Try automatic network selection first. If needed, select a supported partner for your current country. The CG MTN entry supports 2G/3G only.
5. Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM or repeatedly scan a one-time QR code while troubleshooting.

Contact the AloOui Help Center with your order number, device model, location and error screenshots.

Planning a wider trip?

Africa eSIM and Africa Long Trip eSIM do not list either Congo destination. Do not substitute either based on its regional name. Check every destination and selected plan before purchasing.
