Europe Lite eSIM

Unlimited Essential · 15 days

Get 1GB per day at full speed, then unlimited data at up to 1.25 Mbps for the rest of that day where coverage is available. A balanced choice for a two-week trip with maps, train tickets, messaging and photo sharing. Staying longer? Choose 30 days. Check the plan selector for the current price.

Why we recommend it

• Our best-value Europe plan, covering the EU plus Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein
• 1GB of full-speed data every day, then unlimited data at up to 1.25 Mbps
• Enough for maps, train apps, WhatsApp and photo sharing on a two-week trip
• Hotspot sharing, where supported, lets you share data with a travel partner

Choose 30 days for a month-long trip. Choose Unlimited Plus for remote work or hotspot use. Choose Premium Unlimited (5, 10 or 15 days) for the highest tier. Choose fixed data for a short city break.

Messaging and email: about 50 to 100MB per day

Maps, trains and ride-hailing: about 50 to 150MB per day

Social media and photo sharing: about 200 to 500MB per day

One-hour video call: about 500MB to 1GB

Rule of thumb: most travelers use under 1GB per day, which is why Unlimited Essential fits most trips. Remote work and streaming need 2GB or more, so choose Unlimited Plus. Estimates only; actual usage depends on your apps and settings.

Before you start: make sure your phone is eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, and connect to Wi-Fi. Install the eSIM at home before you travel, and keep the QR code email, since most eSIMs can only be installed once.

iPhone

1. Go to Settings > Mobile Data (Cellular) > Add eSIM.
2. Tap Use QR Code and scan the QR code from your AloOui email. You can also tap Enter Details Manually and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the email.
3. Label the new line AloOui so it is easy to find.
4. Keep your home line as Primary for calls and SMS, and choose AloOui for Mobile Data.
5. Turn off Allow Mobile Data Switching so your home SIM does not use roaming data.

Android (Samsung, Google Pixel and others)

1. Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR code. Google Pixel: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add eSIM or Download a SIM instead.
2. Scan the QR code from your AloOui email, or enter the activation code manually.
3. Rename the new line AloOui.
4. Set AloOui as the SIM for Mobile data, and keep your home SIM for calls and SMS.

Activate when you arrive

1. Turn on the AloOui line and make sure it is selected for Mobile Data.
2. Turn on Data Roaming for the AloOui line. This is required and does not create extra charges from AloOui.
3. Wait a minute or two for the phone to connect to a local network. You should see a network name and 4G, LTE or 5G at the top of the screen.
4. To avoid roaming charges from your home carrier, keep Data Roaming off on your home SIM.

Connected but no internet? Follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Most connection issues are fixed in a minute with these steps. Try them in order:

1. Turn on data roaming for the AloOui eSIM line. iPhone: Settings > Mobile Data (Cellular) > AloOui line > Data Roaming ON. Android: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Data roaming ON.
2. Set the AloOui eSIM as your mobile data line. iPhone: Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data > select the AloOui line. Android: Settings > SIM manager > Mobile data > select the AloOui eSIM.
3. Check the APN is set to data.esim. iPhone: Settings > Mobile Data > AloOui line > Mobile Data Network, then enter data.esim in the APN field. Android: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names > add a new APN with Name AloOui and APN data.esim, save it and select it. Leave username and password blank.
4. Select a network manually. Turn off Automatic network selection and choose a supported local network: Orange, SFR or Bouygues in France; Vodafone, Wind Tre or Iliad in Italy; Movistar, Orange or Vodafone in Spain; O2 or Vodafone in Germany; Swisscom, Salt or Sunrise in Switzerland; KPN or Vodafone in the Netherlands; MEO, NOS or Vodafone in Portugal; COSMOTE, Vodafone or NOVA in Greece; A1 or Drei in Austria; T-Mobile, O2 or Vodafone in the Czech Republic; Telia or ICE in Norway; Siminn, Vodafone or Nova in Iceland. In other countries, choose any network shown in your phone's network list; a supported partner network is available in every destination listed below. If one network does not connect, try another.
5. Toggle Airplane mode on for 10 seconds and off again, or restart your phone to refresh the connection.
6. Check the eSIM line is turned on and that Low Data Mode is off for the AloOui line.
7. Switch network mode to 4G/LTE or Automatic if 5G is unstable in your area.
8. Do not delete the eSIM. A deleted eSIM usually cannot be reinstalled from the same QR code, so contact us first.
