Keep the two services separate

Before departure: install without deleting another profile

Where your phone supports the required active lines, you may retain your usual line while using the travel eSIM for data. Check the default voice line separately from the mobile-data line and confirm home-carrier charges before making or receiving calls.

Turning home-line data roaming off does not establish that calls or SMS are free. Wi-Fi Calling availability and billing also depend on your carrier and device; do not assume it removes roaming charges.

SMS verification depends on your home carrier, destination service and the sender. Keeping a line active does not guarantee receipt of every code or call. Arrange an alternative sign-in method supported by the service before departure rather than relying on a blanket promise.

Internet apps are not native SMS
