Sri Lanka eSIM

Sri Lanka eSIM for hill-country tours and coastal stays

Choose your Sri Lanka plan

• Lighter use: fixed 3GB or 5GB for 30 days is a starting point between Wi-Fi connections.
• Balanced two-week circuit: Unlimited Essential for 15 days provides 1GB of high-speed data daily, then continued data at up to 1.25 Mbps for the rest of that day.
• More uploads or hotspot use: Unlimited Plus provides 2GB of high-speed data daily, then continued data at up to 2 Mbps. Match the duration to your stay.

Select your option above for its current price. Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.

Compare selectable plans

Standard Sri Lanka Unlimited options are Lite. Daily high-speed allowances refresh each day; reduced speeds apply after that day's allowance is used. Unlimited does not mean unrestricted high-speed data. Fixed plans end when their total allowance or validity runs out, whichever comes first, without reduced-speed continuation. No Premium option is currently selectable.

Sri Lanka coverage and supported networks

This plan covers Sri Lanka only. Listed partners include Dialog Axiata, Mobitel and Hutch. The provider list includes a legacy Etisalat Lanka entry under the Hutch brand; network names may appear differently on your device. Mobitel lists 4G/5G support, while Dialog and the Hutch entries are listed up to 4G. Available speeds depend on your device, partner and local conditions.

Hill-country trains, safaris and boat trips

Save maps, tickets and accommodation details offline before hill-country rail journeys, Yala visits or whale-watching trips. Tunnels, remote park routes and offshore excursions can have limited or no signal. Sea or shipboard networks are not included. Arrange appropriate backup communications for remote travel rather than relying on mobile data alone.

Hotspot and data-only service

Hotspot sharing is available where supported by your device and network. Shared usage counts toward the same total or daily high-speed allowance. Large uploads, backups and streaming can use data quickly.

This eSIM does not include a Sri Lankan phone number, native calls or SMS. Use internet-based messaging and calling apps through mobile data. If you keep your home SIM for calls or SMS, check its roaming charges and turn off its data roaming.

Install before departure, activate when ready

Use an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device and stable Wi-Fi to install the QR code from your email. Choose Add eSIM in your phone's cellular or SIM settings; menus vary by device.

Validity starts when the eSIM activates by connecting to a supported Sri Lankan network. Installation alone does not start validity. If you are already in Sri Lanka, enabling the line and connecting can start your plan.

When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line. Disable automatic mobile-data switching to your home SIM where available.

APN and connection help

1. Check that AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
2. If an APN is required, enter data.esim, leave username and password blank, and save/select it. Some devices configure this automatically.
3. Toggle airplane mode or restart your phone. Try 4G/LTE if 5G is unstable.
4. Start with automatic network selection. If needed, choose a listed supported partner.
5. Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting; contact support first.

Compare the separate Asia eSIM, which includes Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore within its 14-destination list, but excludes India and the Maldives. Check every stop before buying. It is a separate purchase, not additional coverage included with this Sri Lanka plan.
