How to Delete eSIM from iPhone — Step-by-Step Guide + What to Do Next
Tidying your iPhone's SIM settings after a trip? Start with what you want to achieve. Stopping use of a line, removing its installed profile and cancelling a provider service are different decisions. If you may need the plan again, check the supported line controls and recovery options before choosing deletion. This guide helps you make that decision without treating removal as routine troubleshooting.
Have remaining data? Check before removing the profile
Keep your order reference and ask AloOui about the selected plan's remaining validity and recovery options. For your next trip, a checked Greece example is 1GB total for 7 days at $3.12 USD.

These plans cover different countries and are not interchangeable. Removing an old profile is not a required first step for every new purchase; check your device's actual limits and selected plan instructions.

Compare for lighter measured use. Fixed data is a total allowance, not daily; the checked terms do not include continuation after exhaustion.

A balanced UK option. Standard Essential provides 1GB per day at full speed, then reduced-speed data at up to 1.25 Mbps under the selected terms.

Turn off versus remove: match the action to the goal
Stop using a line temporarily
Review the supported line on/off controls or select another mobile-data line, as appropriate. This is different from removing the installed profile. Do not assume it pauses plan validity or provider billing.
Remove a profile you no longer need
Confirm the correct line, remaining entitlement and recovery options first. Removing the local profile is not the same as cancelling a service contract or requesting a refund.
First, identify the correct line
Review the intended line in Settings → Cellular or Mobile Data. Check its label and provider rather than relying on a name such as Primary or Travel alone. Menu wording can differ by software and region.
Consider the calls, messages and account access you need before changing a home-carrier line. For managed work phones, follow your employer's approved process.
When turning off may fit better
If you only want to stop using a line for now, review the device's supported enable/disable controls rather than selecting Delete or Erase. If your goal is simply to use another plan for mobile data, review the selected data line and automatic switching separately.
Turning off use does not establish that validity stops counting down, unused allowance is refunded or a subscription ends. Check the selected provider terms for those questions.
Before choosing profile removal
Confirm that you no longer need the profile, or that the provider has explained the relevant recovery route. Check remaining allowance, validity, transfer eligibility and any intended future use.
Follow the current device instructions and read the removal confirmation carefully. A saved QR image is not proof that it can be reused, and replacement codes are not guaranteed for every profile.
When selling or giving away the phone, follow the manufacturer's full preparation and account-security guidance. Removing one eSIM is not a complete device handover process.
Profile removal, cancellation and refunds are separate
Removing the profile changes what is installed on the phone. Use the provider's cancellation process if you need to end a service or ongoing billing. A refund request is another separate question governed by the applicable order terms.
For AloOui, check the selected product rather than assuming every service has identical billing. The reviewed UK Prepaid eSIM 5GB/30 Days does not renew automatically, while the separate US virtual-number service is an automatically renewing monthly subscription. Removing a handset profile does not cancel that separate number subscription.
An eSIM problem? Troubleshoot before removal
For an installed profile with no internet, use the activation and mobile-data guide to check the selected line, destination, validity, allowance and delivered roaming and APN instructions.
For a rejected activation code, use the QR-code troubleshooting guide. Deletion and repeated scanning are not universal recovery methods.
If you removed the profile by mistake
Contact the AloOui Help Center with your order reference, phone model, software version and what happened. Support can review which options apply to that profile; this guide does not promise a replacement, refund or fixed resolution time.
Keep activation credentials private. Do not publish a QR code or assume manual details bypass an already-used entitlement.
Choose your next trip's data with Shop with AI
Use Shop with AI on the AloOui website or app to compare plans for your route, dates and expected activity. Essential is the balanced option where its allowance fits; compare Plus for clearly data-heavy trips where available. Lite remains separate, and Premium should be chosen only where selectable.
Review the selected product before checkout. More allowance does not change device support, recover a removed profile or cancel an existing subscription.

Turn-off and deletion FAQs
Does turning off an eSIM delete it?
Turning off use and removing the profile are different actions. Read the device prompt and use the supported control matching your goal.
Does turning off pause plan validity?
Do not assume that. Check the selected plan's timing rules.
Does removal cancel provider billing?
Use the provider's cancellation process where required. Local profile removal does not establish cancellation or a refund.
Can I always get a replacement QR code?
No replacement is guaranteed here. Eligibility depends on the actual profile and applicable terms.
Should I delete an unused line to fix internet?
Use the relevant troubleshooting checks first rather than treating deletion as a routine fix.
Are all AloOui products non-renewing?
No. Check each product. The reviewed UK prepaid plan is non-renewing; the separate US virtual-number service renews monthly.
