Long-Stay eSIM Plans for Digital Nomads: Data, Validity & Budget

A long-stay eSIM needs to fit both your calendar and your workload. A 90-day plan with a fixed data pool can suit a slow traveler who uses regular Wi-Fi, but daily video meetings may call for a different data strategy. This guide helps digital nomads budget a whole-trip allowance, compare daily unlimited and Unlimited Premium options, and decide when a UK number is useful.

For installation details, use the separate digital-nomad setup guide. Here the focus is longer stays, route coverage and buying decisions, not another generic work-phone tutorial.

Asia Long Trip plans checked 12 October 2026. European competitor examples are recorded 10 October 2026 prices. All prices are USD. Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.

Key facts for long-term remote workers

• Asia Long Trip has four selectable fixed-data plans, with no Unlimited or Premium option on that listing.
• Its 14 destinations include Hong Kong and Macau, but exclude mainland China, Japan and the Philippines.
• The separate standard Asia product currently has 13 destinations and excludes Macau as well. Do not transfer coverage between products.
• Border crossings do not reset a fixed pool or purchased validity.
• Plus is a daily-allowance tier, not unrestricted high-speed data or Premium.
• Unlimited Premium uses a whole-plan high-speed pool, then reduced-speed continuation. UK True Unlimited has different data rules.
• Hotspot traffic uses the same allowance. Check your exact option's permission and limits before relying on laptop sharing.
• AloOui provides 24/7 human support; use the Help Center for purchase-specific questions.

Three Asia Long Trip choices for slow travel

Staying longer? 100GB / 180 days is $367.86. Longer validity does not add data: this option has the same total pool as 100GB/90 days, spread across a longer permitted period. Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.

Travel eSIM or a local connection for a longer stay?

Budget the pool across your whole trip

Estimate actual mobile traffic from recent usage rather than applying a universal allowance to every nomad. Add work meetings, uploads, personal streaming and connected laptop traffic. Keep large updates and backups on an approved stable connection when practical.

Asia Long Trip: exact route coverage

The current listing and all four options list Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Bali is included through Indonesia. Mainland China, Japan, India, Philippines, Cambodia and Laos are not included.

A Hong Kong–Macau visit can fit this Long Trip list; it does not establish mainland China coverage. The separate Asia eSIM has daily Lite/Essential/Plus and fixed-data choices for shorter trips, but its current list excludes Macau. Check the exact product, not the word “Asia.”

For a different route, compare Europe + USA + Business Hubs: 20GB/60 days or 50GB/90 days across its 46 listed destinations, including China and Japan. For longer transatlantic travel, Europe + USA offers 20GB/60 days, 50GB or 100GB/90 days, and 100GB/180 days across its own 37-destination list. Neither is worldwide or an entire-continent promise.

Country fixed data and Unlimited Premium for individual stays

For clearly heavier-use 5-, 10- or 15-day stays, compare actual Unlimited Premium options where selectable. They offer a whole-plan high-speed pool, followed by reduced-speed continuation, not UK True Unlimited or a daily refill. Fixed data can cost less upfront for lighter use; Essential remains a balanced daily alternative and Plus has a larger daily high-speed allowance.

• France eSIM: fixed 5GB/30 days was $7.90 at the latest check; Premium 30GB/5 days, 60GB/10 days or 90GB/15 days costs $40/$60/$80.
• USA eSIM: fixed 5GB/30 days was $14.56; Premium 30GB/5 days, 60GB/10 days or 90GB/15 days costs $50/$80/$120.
• China eSIM: fixed 5GB/30 days was $20.42; Premium 30GB/5 days, 60GB/10 days or 90GB/15 days costs $50/$90/$120.
• UAE eSIM: fixed 5GB/30 days was $15.99; Premium 30GB/5 days, 60GB/10 days or 90GB/15 days costs $60/$100/$130.
• Europe Extra and Europe Lite have selectable regional Unlimited Premium; compare each destination list.
• Europe+ has fixed and daily Lite/Essential/Plus, not a supplied-number plan.
• Japan and Hong Kong offer separate destination choices; Hong Kong currently has no Premium option.

Country Premium high-speed pools continue at up to 2 Mbps once used, until validity ends, without a daily reset. Confirm selected-option hotspot terms, especially France Premium and USA sharing, before buying for a laptop. Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.

AloOui vs Airalo and Holafly: selected budget examples

Use concrete package comparisons rather than a made-up universal monthly roaming bill. The following published figures were recorded on 10 October 2026. The fixed-data examples match country, total allowance and duration, but other service terms can differ.

No matching fixed-GB Holafly offer is established in that table. For seven-day offers, compare the named products below while noting their different data rules.

AloOui Essential here includes 1GB/day high-speed, then up to 1.25 Mbps until daily reset. Lower recorded upfront prices do not establish identical unlimited, high-speed or sharing allowances. Holafly country pages list 1GB/day sharing; do not infer Airalo sharing terms from its Unlimited label.

Price comparison notice: Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing. Recorded competitor prices may vary by currency, promotion, tax, fees or checkout conditions. These are selected lower-priced examples, not a complete market ranking or an always-cheapest claim.

UK True Unlimited and local-number alternatives

UK Unlimited Prepaid offers True Unlimited data for 30 days, a local UK number, 500 UK minutes and 500 UK SMS, currently $119.08. No contract or automatic renewal. Activation and service are UK-only.

True Unlimited means no fixed GB allowance, no daily data cap and no automatic slowdown after a set amount of use. Fair use applies to abuse. Actual speed depends on device, signal, congestion and location. Data is unlimited; calls and SMS are not. International calls and premium-rate services are not included, and verification texts are not guaranteed.

For a UK number on a supported European trip, compare UK & EU Prepaid 5GB / 14 days, with a UK number, 50 minutes and 50 SMS across its 30 listed destinations. Europe Calls & SMS lists fixed data and 50 minutes/50 SMS per option, but does not specify the supplied number country. These are distinct purchases, not benefits added to the Asia plan.

Validity and top-ups: do not confuse the windows

Asia Long Trip validity starts when the eSIM connects to a supported network in a covered destination. A 90-day option runs across the elapsed period, including weekends and days on Wi-Fi. Its data pool is shared across covered destinations. Service ends when data or validity runs out, whichever comes first; no reduced-speed continuation is included on this fixed-data listing.

You can top up the travel eSIM for a maximum of six months. This top-up window is separate from each purchased plan's validity and does not make a plan valid for six months. Check which top-ups are eligible; do not assume every purchase has the same terms, instantly replenishes the old pool or renews automatically.

Monitor data and validity before an important meeting and retain order details. Any loyalty or rewards benefit should be checked under the current programme's displayed eligibility and terms, not assumed for every purchase.

Setup, security and troubleshooting

1. Confirm exact device/regional eSIM support, carrier-unlocked status and employer permission.
2. Install the emailed QR over stable Wi-Fi before you need the connection. Follow purchase instructions.
3. At a covered destination, enable the travel line, select it for data and apply its roaming settings. Disable automatic data switching to the home line where available.
4. If manual travel-eSIM APN setup is needed, enter data.esim, leave username/password blank, then save/select. Follow order-specific instructions.
5. Test employer-required VPNs, applications and permitted hotspot before a client call. A travel eSIM does not replace company security rules.

A compatible dual-SIM setup may preserve your home number, but home-carrier calls/SMS can attract charges and verification delivery is not guaranteed. For no internet, check coverage, line selection, data/validity and order settings; toggle airplane mode or restart. Use a supported partner only if the order or support identifies it. Keep the eSIM installed and contact the Help Center. Do not share your QR code publicly.

Business planning and Shop with AI

For expenses, confirm approval and required receipt details before paying. Keep amount, currency, dates, business purpose and order confirmation. For teams, list each traveler's device, route, usage and calling needs; do not assume pooled allowances, a corporate dashboard or automatic discounts.

Use Shop with AI on AloOui's website or app to shortlist suitable options. Tell it the full route, elapsed duration, video meetings, uploads, laptop-sharing needs and budget. Check the selected plan's current coverage and terms before checkout.
