Japan eSIM

Find your way through Tokyo, compare train routes between Kyoto and Osaka, translate menus and keep your travel bookings close at hand. Choose an AloOui Japan eSIM with a fixed total allowance or an Unlimited tier that matches your daily data use. Your QR code is delivered by email after purchase.

Coverage and supported networks

This country product covers Japan only. Its provider data lists Rakuten Mobile, KDDI and NTT Docomo. Supported partners list 4G and 5G capabilities; actual access depends on your phone, partner network and local conditions. 5G is not guaranteed.

Download offline maps and keep travel reservations available offline before train journeys, mountain trips or visits to remote areas. Signal can vary in tunnels, on moving trains and away from towns.

Data and validity

Fixed-data plans provide one total allowance for the full validity, not a daily refill:

• 1GB for 7 days
• 2GB for 15 days
• 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, 50GB or 100GB for 30 days

Fixed-data options do not include unlimited reduced-speed continuation after the allowance is used.

Unlimited Lite, Essential and Plus are selectable for 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days. Lite appears as Japan Unlimited in the selector. This product does not have a selectable 30-day Unlimited option or a Premium tier.

Reduced-speed data applies for the remainder of that day, subject to plan terms and network conditions. Unlimited does not mean unlimited data at full speed. Plus is not Premium.

Price and choosing a plan

Current prices appear in the selector beside each option. Compare fixed data for predictable total usage, Essential for balanced everyday maps and messaging, and Plus for higher daily data needs. For a 30-day stay, compare the selectable 30-day fixed-data options rather than assuming an Unlimited tier lasts a month.

Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.

Connectivity and hotspot

Hotspot sharing is included where network service is available, subject to plan terms and device support. Shared data uses the selected plan's allowance; reduced speeds also affect your hotspot connection.

Installation and activation

1. Confirm your exact phone model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked, then purchase the option and duration you need.
2. Open your AloOui QR-code email and connect to stable Wi-Fi.
3. Follow the supplied installation instructions. On iPhone, look for Cellular or Mobile Data > Add eSIM. On many Samsung phones, use Connections > SIM Manager; on Pixel, look for SIMs under Network & internet. Menus vary by device.
4. In Japan, turn on the AloOui line, choose it for mobile data and enable roaming on that line if required by the activation instructions.
5. Allow the phone to register on a supported network.

Before you travel and compatible devices

You can install your Japan eSIM before traveling. Installation alone does not start validity. Your plan's validity starts on activation when the eSIM connects to a supported network in Japan.

Use an unlocked, eSIM-compatible iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel or other supported device. Compatibility depends on the exact model and regional version, not the brand alone. Keep roaming off on your home line if you want to avoid your home carrier's roaming charges.

Need help?

If the eSIM does not connect, check that the AloOui line is on, selected for mobile data and in a supported coverage area. Check required roaming settings, then restart or briefly toggle airplane mode. If the APN is missing or incorrect, enter data.esim and keep other fields as supplied in your instructions.

For manual selection, use a supported partner listed in your activation details. Do not delete the eSIM or repeatedly rescan the QR code before asking for help. Contact the AloOui Help Center with your order details, phone model and the error you see. Keep your QR code private.
