Explore Tanzania plansCompare daily Unlimited tiers
Unlimited Lite
1GB/day high-speed data, then continued data at up to 512 kbps. For lighter use between Wi-Fi connections.
Choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days.
Choose LiteUnlimited Essential
1GB/day high-speed data, then continued data at up to 1.25 Mbps. A balanced choice for maps, messages and bookings.
Choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days.
Choose EssentialUnlimited Plus
2GB/day high-speed data, then continued data at up to 2 Mbps. Compare this for more uploads and hotspot use.
Choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days. Plus is not Premium.
Choose PlusHigh-speed allowances refresh daily. Standard Unlimited options without an Essential or Plus label are Lite. Actual speeds depend on local coverage and network conditions; a higher tier does not create reception where there is no supported signal.
Prices may change. Always check the product page for the latest prices before purchasing.
Fixed data for lighter use or a longer stay
Compare 5GB, 10GB or 20GB/30 days for maps, messages and bookings between Wi-Fi connections. Other selectable options are 1GB/7 days, 2GB/15 days and 3GB/30 days.
Fixed data is one total allowance for the selected validity, not a daily refill. It ends when the allowance or validity runs out, whichever comes first, without reduced-speed continuation. Tanzania's Unlimited tiers stop at 15 days; fixed options offer up to 30 days.
Travel eSIM or home-carrier roaming?
AloOui Tanzania eSIM
Choose your allowance and validity before travelling. This is a data-only travel eSIM requiring an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device.
Home-carrier roaming
Check your carrier's Tanzania coverage, data limits and charges, then compare the actual tariff with your selected plan. If keeping your home SIM active for calls or texts, disable its data roaming and check those charges too.
Arrivals in Dar es Salaam and Arusha
Save your hotel address, transfer instructions and guide's contact details before departure. Mobile data can help you message your host and check directions where supported service is available. Confirm pickup arrangements directly with your accommodation or operator, and keep an offline copy of essential details.
Preparing for safari days
Before a Serengeti or Ngorongoro outing, download maps, booking confirmations and the contacts supplied by your safari operator. Ask your lodge about Wi-Fi and local mobile reception. Use connected moments to send updates and confirm onward plans rather than relying on continuous signal throughout a remote route.
Zanzibar stays and island transfers
The Tanzania plan can be used on Zanzibar itineraries where supported coverage is available. Check your accommodation and essential locations before buying, especially remote beaches, Pemba stays or routes involving a ferry. Keep transfer tickets and host contacts offline; satellite and maritime networks are not included.
Kilimanjaro and mountain outings
Save the information and contact arrangements provided by your trekking operator before leaving reliable coverage. Reception can vary on trails and at camps. A larger data allowance does not guarantee a connection at altitude or replace the communication arrangements provided by your guide.
Networks and hotspot sharing
Connect through Airtel Tanzania and Vodacom, with support up to 5G where available on your device and network. Actual reception and speeds depend on location, terrain and network conditions.
Hotspot sharing is available where supported by your phone and network, using the same allowance. This eSIM does not include a Tanzanian number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based messaging and calling use your data connection.
Ask Shop with AI for buying help
Use Shop with AI on the AloOui website or app to compare options for your destinations, trip length and data needs. It can help in many different languages, so ask questions in the language you prefer. Confirm the selected plan's details and current price before checkout.
For an easier shopping experience, download AloOui on the App Store or Google Play.
Install before departure and activate when ready
- Confirm eSIM support for your exact phone model and regional version, and check carrier-unlocked status.
- Choose your option and install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.
- When ready in Tanzania, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line.
Validity starts on activation by connection to a supported Tanzania network, not installation alone. If already within supported destination coverage, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan.
If data does not connect, check your selected data line, roaming, allowance and validity. If an APN is required, use data.esim with username and password blank. Try airplane mode and automatic network selection. Keep the eSIM installed and contact the AloOui Help Center with your order number, phone model, location and error details.
