Regional plan or individual destination plan?
Use a regional plan for several included stops
A Caribbean regional option can avoid buying a separate profile for each destination that it includes. Moving between included islands does not create a new allowance or reset validity.
Match the whole route first. A port's location in the Caribbean is not enough to establish inclusion.
Use another option for a different destination
An excluded stop needs its own suitable coverage arrangement. You may use a matching country product or another regional product where available.
A US departure stay, Mexico visit or ambiguous island territory needs its own check, not an assumption that Caribbean eSIM includes it.

Build your own route checklist
- Copy every stop from the cruise itinerary, including the departure and final arrival cities.
- Write the actual country or territory beside each port.
- Mark whether it appears in the selected product's current list.
- Resolve ambiguous island entries before purchase.
- Choose a separate arrangement for excluded stops.
- Match the allowance and validity to your first connection and final use.
Do not treat a familiar island group, political connection or regional product name as proof of coverage. A list of available networks on a phone is also not proof that the selected plan can use each one.
Include your US departure stay and Mexico stops
Caribbean eSIM does not automatically provide US coverage. For time in Miami or another US departure city and a visit to Mexico, compare the separate North America eSIM, whose product lists the USA, Canada and Mexico.
This is a separate purchase, not extra destinations added to Caribbean eSIM. Confirm each profile's duration and your phone's supported line arrangement. If a USA-inclusive plan connects during your pre-cruise stay, validity can start before sailing.
Do not infer Puerto Rico or another island territory's inclusion from the USA label. Check the actual territory on the selected plan.
Choose validity for the whole use window
Count the time from first activation to your final required use, not just the number of days ashore. Do not plan on pausing validity by switching off the line or using airplane mode during sea days.
The current Caribbean selector offers Unlimited options up to fifteen days, while fixed-data options include thirty-day validity. For a longer voyage, do not assume a thirty-day Unlimited option exists. Choose the available option that fits your route and needs.
Fixed data is one total pool across included destinations. Essential and Plus have daily high-speed allowances and reduced-speed terms. A border crossing does not create a fresh fixed allowance or restart the plan.
Plan data around your shore activities
Maps, messages, transport bookings and excursion details are different from uploading videos or joining long video calls. Review recent usage on your phone and the activities you expect during each stop rather than relying on a universal gigabyte estimate per port day.
Use fixed 5GB for lighter practical use if you can save large transfers for Wi-Fi. Essential is the balanced daily option; Plus gives more high-speed data for heavier use. If sharing with a companion, both devices draw from the same allowance.
Download maps, tickets and return instructions before leaving the ship. Pause cloud backups and automatic updates on mobile data so your allowance is available for the tasks that matter ashore.
Install before travel, enable when ready
- Confirm the exact phone model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked.
- Buy the destination coverage, allowance and duration you need.
- Use stable Wi-Fi to install the profile from the delivery email.
- Label the line Caribbean or AloOui so you can distinguish it from your home line and other travel profiles.
- Keep the profile installed and follow the purchased option's activation instructions.
The Caribbean product states that installation alone does not start validity. Activation occurs when the eSIM connects to a supported network in an included destination. If you are already in one of those destinations, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan before your cruise.
Use shore data separately from onboard Wi-Fi
The Caribbean product states that service at sea and shipboard mobile networks are not included. Arrange any onboard Wi-Fi with the cruise operator. A shore-data purchase is not a replacement for that service.
Follow the operator's connectivity instructions. When using Wi-Fi without cellular service, use airplane mode and then enable Wi-Fi. Check your home carrier's maritime roaming and Wi-Fi-calling terms separately rather than assuming a travel eSIM prevents every charge.

At an included port
- Leave airplane mode when ready to use mobile service ashore.
- Enable the correct AloOui profile and select it for mobile data.
- Enable data roaming on that travel line as instructed.
- Keep home-line data roaming off and disable automatic mobile-data switching where supported.
- Allow connection time and test a small webpage or message before relying on live directions.
Destination inclusion does not guarantee reception at every berth, beach or excursion site. Keep terminal details, meeting points and return times available offline.
If there is no data at a stop
- Confirm the actual destination is included. Check the territory, not just the cruise region.
- Check the plan's remaining allowance and validity.
- Confirm the enabled profile, mobile-data selection and required roaming setting.
- Follow the purchased instructions. The Caribbean product lists data.esim as its APN, with username and password blank if manual entry is required.
- Try airplane mode, a restart or a place with better reception ashore.
- Use automatic network selection first. If instructed to choose manually, use a listed supported partner rather than any visible network.
- Keep the eSIM installed and contact the AloOui Help Center with your model, order number, port and error details.
If the destination is excluded, repeatedly scanning the QR code or changing APNs will not add it to the plan. Resolve coverage rather than treating every connection failure as an installation problem.
Calls, messages and group sharing
Caribbean eSIM is data-only. It does not include a phone number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based messaging and calling apps use the data connection; your home number's calls and verification texts remain subject to your carrier's availability and charges.
Hotspot sharing is described as available where your device and network support it, using the same allowance. If companions separate, give anyone needing independent access their own suitable arrangement rather than relying on a hotspot out of range.
