Compare selectable plans

Standard Rwanda Unlimited options are Lite. Daily high-speed allowances refresh each day. Unlimited does not mean unrestricted high-speed data. Actual speeds depend on available connectivity. Fixed plans end when their allowance or validity runs out, whichever comes first, without reduced-speed continuation. No Unlimited duration beyond 10 days, or Premium or Platinum variant, is currently selectable on this product.

Rwanda coverage and networks

This product covers Rwanda only, not Uganda, Tanzania or other neighboring countries. MTN is listed up to 4G. Both Airtel provider entries are listed up to 3G; they do not represent two additional distinct brands. The provider list does not specify 5G. Connection and speeds depend on your device, supported partner and local conditions.

Gorilla trekking, forest visits and lake stays

Save trekking permits, lodge details, maps and guide contacts offline before leaving reliable coverage. Reception inside Volcanoes National Park, Nyungwe Forest, Akagera National Park and on remote trails is not guaranteed. Lake Kivu shore locations can have different reception from boat routes. Check with support before purchase if connectivity at a particular lodge or location is essential. Satellite and maritime networks are not included.

Hotspot and keeping your existing number

Hotspot sharing is available where supported by your device and network, using the same total or daily allowance. This eSIM does not include a Rwandan number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based messaging and calling depend on app availability and connectivity.

You can keep your home SIM for calls or SMS if your device supports the arrangement. Check its roaming charges, turn off its data roaming and avoid automatic data switching.

Compatibility, installation and activation

You need an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device. Check your exact model and regional version before purchase. Install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.

Validity starts when the eSIM activates by connecting to a supported network in Rwanda. Installation alone does not start validity. If already in Rwanda, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan.

When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line.

APN and troubleshooting

1. Check that AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
2. If an APN is required, set it to data.esim, leaving username and password blank. Save/select it; some devices configure this automatically.
3. Toggle airplane mode or restart your phone.
4. Start with automatic network selection; if needed, select a listed supported partner and move to a stronger-signal area.
5. Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting; contact support first.

For installation assistance or connection problems, contact the AloOui Help Center.

Planning a wider trip?

AloOui's Africa and Africa Long Trip products do not currently include Rwanda in their coverage lists. Do not substitute either based on the regional name alone. Use Shop with AI to find options for your itinerary and check every destination in the selected product's coverage list before purchasing.
