AloOui Costa Rica eSIM is a data-only travel eSIM for Costa Rica. Choose fixed allowances from 1GB to 100GB or daily-allowance Unlimited Lite, Essential and Plus for up to 30 days. Fixed validity is 7, 15 or 30 days depending on allowance. Listed networks are ICE and Claro up to 4G, and Liberty up to 5G where available.

Keep your San José hotel address handy, message your La Fortuna host or check a Tamarindo booking where supported service is available. Your QR code is delivered by email after purchase. No ID verification is required for the AloOui purchase; local legal requirements may differ.

• Lighter use: compare fixed 5GB or 10GB for 30 days for maps, messages and bookings between Wi-Fi connections.
• Balanced everyday use: Unlimited Essential includes 1GB of high-speed data daily, then data at up to 1.25 Mbps for the rest of the day.
• Data-heavy two-week trip: Unlimited Plus for 15 days includes 2GB of high-speed data daily, then data at up to 2 Mbps. It is the larger daily-allowance option for uploads and hotspot use where supported.

Compare selectable plans

Standard Costa Rica Unlimited options are Lite. Daily high-speed allowances refresh each day. Unlimited does not mean unrestricted high-speed data. Actual speeds depend on available connectivity. Fixed plans end when their allowance or validity runs out, whichever comes first, without reduced-speed continuation. No Premium or Platinum variant is currently selectable on this product. Plus is not Premium.

Costa Rica networks and coverage

ICE and Claro are listed up to 4G. The provider record named Telefonicade Costa Rica TC,S.A. uses the brand Liberty and lists support up to 5G. These are the names in the current provider list; the older Movistar wording is not an additional separate network.

Connection and speeds depend on your device, supported partner, terrain and local conditions. A listed 5G network does not guarantee 5G at every location. This product covers Costa Rica only, not Panama, Nicaragua or other countries.

Rainforest routes, surf towns and national parks

Save offline maps, lodge confirmations and guide contacts before leaving reliable coverage. Reception can vary on Monteverde mountain roads, around the Osa Peninsula, along remote beach routes and inside parks. Do not assume uninterrupted service during Tortuguero boat transfers or at a particular eco-lodge. Check with support before purchase if connectivity at a specific location is essential. Satellite and maritime networks are not included.

Hotspot and keeping your existing number

Hotspot sharing is available where supported by your device and network, using the same total or daily allowance. This eSIM does not include a Costa Rican number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based messaging and calling depend on app availability and connectivity.

You can keep your home SIM for calls or SMS if your device supports the arrangement. Check its roaming charges, turn off its data roaming and avoid automatic data switching.

Compatibility, installation and activation

You need an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device. Check your exact model and regional version before purchase. Install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.

Validity starts when the eSIM activates by connecting to a supported network in Costa Rica. Installation alone does not start validity. If already in Costa Rica, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan.

When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line.

APN and troubleshooting

1. Check that AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
2. If an APN is required, set it to data.esim, leaving username and password blank. Save/select it; some devices configure this automatically.
3. Toggle airplane mode or restart your phone.
4. Start with automatic network selection; if needed, select a listed supported partner and move to a stronger-signal area.
5. Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting; contact support first.
