Mauritius coverage and networks
The provider lists Mauritius Telecom (Cellplus Mobile Communications) with 4G/5G support and Emtel up to 4G for this product. Speeds depend on your device, supported partner and local conditions. 5G and reception at every location are not guaranteed. This plan does not include Réunion or Seychelles.
Resorts, inland routes and boat excursions
Save maps, accommodation details and tour meeting points offline before driving inland or visiting Black River Gorges and remote coastal locations. Buildings and terrain can affect reception. Confirm coverage with support before a separate Rodrigues visit; the country-level provider list does not verify service there. Do not assume continuous connectivity on lagoon excursions or offshore islands. Maritime and satellite networks are not included.
Hotspot and keeping your existing number
Hotspot sharing is available where supported by your device and network, using the same total or daily allowance. This eSIM does not include a Mauritian number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based messaging and calling depend on app availability and connectivity.
You can keep your home SIM for calls or SMS if your device supports the arrangement. Check its roaming charges, turn off its data roaming and avoid automatic data switching.
Compatibility, installation and activation
You need an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device. Check your exact model and regional version before purchase. Install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.
Validity starts when the eSIM first uses data on a supported Mauritian network. Installation alone does not start validity. If already in Mauritius, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan.
When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line.
APN and troubleshooting
- Check that AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
- If an APN is required, set it to data.esim, leaving username and password blank. Save/select it; some devices configure this automatically.
- Toggle airplane mode or restart. Try 4G/LTE if 5G is unstable.
- Start with automatic network selection; if needed, select a listed supported partner.
- Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting; contact support first.
