BVI networks and coverage
The provider list specifies Flow British Virgin Islands under Cable and Wireless (BVI) Ltd, and Digicel, each supporting up to 4G where available. The list does not establish 5G service. Actual connection and speed depend on your device, supported partner, location and local conditions. Reception across every island, anchorage or property is not guaranteed.
Virgin Gorda, Anegada and sailing itineraries
Confirm essential location coverage with support before purchasing, especially for Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada, Cooper Island, Norman Island or Peter Island. The BVI country entry does not separately establish each island's reception or service at The Baths. Save maps, tickets and accommodation details offline before leaving reliable coverage.
Check current access, weather and local safety guidance separately from connectivity. Do not rely on continuous data for navigation or emergency communication offshore. Satellite and maritime networks are not included, and reception throughout yacht charters or ferries is not promised. Sailing to the US Virgin Islands requires coverage explicitly listing that destination.
Hotspot, calls and your existing number
Hotspot use depends on your selected plan, device and network; shared usage counts toward the same allowance. This data eSIM does not include a local phone number, native calls or SMS. Internet-based calling and messaging depend on connectivity and app availability.
You can keep your home SIM for calls or SMS if your device supports the arrangement. Check its roaming charges, turn off its data roaming and avoid automatic data switching. No ID verification is required for the AloOui purchase; this does not waive local registration or legal requirements.
Compatibility, installation and activation
Check that your exact device model and regional version support eSIM and are carrier-unlocked. Install the emailed QR code over stable Wi-Fi using Add eSIM in your cellular or SIM settings.
Validity starts when the eSIM first uses data on a supported network in the British Virgin Islands. Installation alone does not start validity. If already within supported coverage, enabling the line and connecting can start the plan. When ready, enable AloOui, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line. Travel between supported locations does not reset the same plan's validity.
APN and troubleshooting
- Confirm AloOui is enabled, selected for mobile data and has data roaming on.
- If manual APN setup is needed, enter data.esim with username and password blank, then save/select it.
- Toggle airplane mode or restart your phone.
- Try automatic network selection first. If needed, select a supported partner and move to a stronger-signal area.
- Check remaining data and validity. Do not delete the eSIM or repeatedly scan a one-time QR code while troubleshooting.
